What is eNPS?
eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score) is a well-established key performance indicator that measures how loyal and engaged employees are. The metric is based on a single question:
“How likely are you to recommend your workplace to a friend or acquaintance?”
Employees respond on a scale from 0 to 10 and are divided into three groups:
- Ambassadors (9–10) – engaged employees who are happy to recommend their workplace
- Passive (7–8) – satisfied but not enthusiastic
- Critics (0–6) – dissatisfied employees who can have a negative impact on the culture
eNPS is calculated as the percentage of advocates minus the percentage of detractors, resulting in a value between -100 and +100. Since the metric is standardized, you can easily track your progress over time.

How eNPS Works in Engage
eNPS + heart rate measurements = a complete picture
eNPS provides a clear and comparable key metric, while pulse surveys show how employees are feeling on a day-to-day basis and explain why the numbers look the way they do. Wellstep365 Engage includes both—together, they give you both the big picture and the details.
