Why Let’s Move?

Focus on cooperation

In Let’s Move, the focus is on complete team challenges. This promotes and encourages collaboration and engagement within the team.

Keeping up the engagement

Each challenge period starts at 12:00 and ends at 12:00 the next day. To collect XP and stars, participants must be active every day.

Flexible challenges

Use Let’s Move to motivate not only health-related missions but also other missions related to your business that you want to promote and encourage.

How does the Let’s Move activity challenge work?

Register activities

To register activities, log in to the competition page, by logging in here on the website or in the Wellstep app. Here you simply fill in the number of minutes and the activity you’ve done. There are around 70 activities to choose from. An activity must have been carried out for at least 15 minutes.

Team challenges

In the competition, teams collect XP, which they earn by completing various missions. Examples of missions:

  • Collect 20 team points
  • Everyone in the team should make at least one registration
  • Everyone should register at least one bonus mission.
  • Someone in the team should be involved in a joint activity.
  • e.g.

The missions give different amounts of XP and it is necessary that everyone in the team is active to get 100 XP which gives 3 stars. The competition period for the missions is 12:00 to 12:00, so before 12:00 participants need to make their registrations to be counted for the current day. At 12:00, the competition moves on to the next marker on the map and the missions start over again.

Stars

During each competition day, the team must collect as many XP as possible.

  • 50XP = 1 star
  • 75XP = 2 stars
  • 100XP = 3 stars

More features in Let’s Move

Register health-related bonus missions for physical, mental and social health, e.g. cooking a vegetarian meal, stand up and working for 2 hours straight or no screen time after 21:00. The activities also include challenges to inspire people to try new small things that are easy to do in everyday life, take little time to complete but still have a big impact. Also, incentive schemes do not only have to be of a health-promoting nature. As a company, do you have an organizational goal to reduce your CO2 emissions? A bonus task could be to leave your car at home for a day or choose food with a low climate impact. You choose which bonus missions you want to include in your competition, how many points they will earn and whether they will be shown throughout the competition period or during a specific week.

Encourage doing activities together. Not only is it more fun to exercise together, sometimes you need someone to make sure it actually happens! The feature allows for the tagging of other contestants, and when the tagged people log in, they have the option to confirm their participation. Once all participants have confirmed, the extra points are awarded. Each additional participant earns 10% extra points. This means that 4 participants in a 30-minute walk will receive 9 extra points, in addition to the regular 30 points.

You can create personal challenges, such as a 100-minute walk per week, and track the results on the competition page.

At the end of the activity challenge, participants are invited to answer some simple questions about exercise habits and such. The results of the survey can be very helpful for you as a company when evaluating the competition and planning new wellness activities in the future.

The competition is available both as an app downloaded from Google Play/App Store and via web browser.

Possibility to publish the activity (activities and bonus missions) you register in an activity feed visible to other participants. It is also possible to complete the post in the activity feed with a text and image.

Publish messages in Slack or Teams from Wellstep, e.g. a weekly leaderboard with the best teams and participants.

The physical condition is an important resource for having both energy and energy left for what we want to do. Wellstep now includes a question-based test where all participants can test their own fitness and find out how good it really is. The test can be performed as many times as desired during the competition. The test gives you a so-called test value. The recommendation if you have a sedentary office job is a test value of at least 35. This is roughly what you need to oxygenate your body and brain for a full working day and have energy left afterwards. It is also considered to be a threshold for not risking ill health related to the fitness level. To achieve a test value of 35, you need to do about half an hour of pulse-raising exercise every day. At the end of the test, the participant chooses whether to save the results. The fitness test, which is question-based, is available in both activity challenges and step competitions and is based on an adaptation of a published scientific article in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.

To motivate each other, you can write posts on the competition page. Cheer on your team members, tell your colleagues about fun activities or why not brag about your new points! A message can either be displayed to all participants or only to your team. You can also reply to messages and react with different emojis.

Wellstep is available in both Swedish and English. Login details can be sent in both Swedish and English, and each participant can choose which language they want when logging in.

Do you want to use the challenge as a way to motivate more exercise in the workplace while contributing to charity? With Wellstep you can visualize this in the competition. Charity can work in two different ways:

  1. You enter an amount in SEK per number of points, for example 10 SEK for a specific cause per 30 points. The amount is totaled and presented to the participants throughout the challenge. A maximum amount can be set if desired.
  2. You set one or more levels. For example, when your company reaches 1,000 points, you donate a set amount to charity. It is possible to have several levels where the competition page shows which level has been passed and how many points are left for the next level.
